Catalyst Connect

Thursday 5th of Sept 2024

I hope you are enjoying our series 'A Revolution of Love'. As catalysts, agents of change, nothing will define our heart for God more than a lavish overflow of practical love that invades our culture with generosity and compassion. When we reflect on Jesus' ministry, he modelled such a beautiful love for those who had been discarded, marginalized and beaten down by life. And we have the responsibility and privilege to do likewise. Let us each seek out a family, couple or individual who you know is doing it tough and find a way to bless and encourage them. Also ask the Lord to keep you sensitive to situations where a random act of kindness - A pay it forward action of love - could turn someone's day around, because a stranger blessed them unexpectedly.

John Hoeben, Matt Donges, David Krikorian, Micah Coto and I, had a whirlwind trip to Fiji last week to begin organising mission trips in 2025. Our hope (If there is enough interest) is to do a youth/young adults aged 16-35, a men's and women's trips and a less intense couple's trip that will be a combination of mission and vacation. If you get a chance, chat with the guys who went and hear from them about the amazing opportunity to be involved in another culture. Thank you for allowing me to open this mission door into Fiji, where for over 25 years, I have seen the Lord consistently and richly bless hundreds of people we have accompanied on these short-term intensive trips.

As a church, we are also really excited about Larry and Chris's trip to Cambodia and Vietnam coming up soon. I hope it thrills your heart to see Catalyst's reach extending outward in so many ways.

Serving Opportunity

Hampers need your help

We have been given the amazing opportunity to supply 30 hampers to a local school to give to their parents. Our heart is to bless these families abundantly but we can't do that without your help.

If you are able to donate some non-perishable food items that we can put in these hampers, would be much appreciated.

Please drop off your donations to the Chandler room on Sunday or into the office during the week by September 11th

Catalyst Kids Volunteers Needed!

Are you ready to make a difference and experience the joy of nurturing young hearts and minds?

Volunteering in Catalyst Kids is a wonderful way to make a positive impact on young lives while sharing the teachings of Jesus.

We're on the lookout for enthusiastic and caring volunteers to help make our kids' ministry program an amazing experience for our kids. Whether you love storytelling, crafts, games, or just spending time with kids, we have a spot for you!

No experience necessary—just a heart for kids and a willingness to have fun! If you’re interested or have any questions, please reach out to Kat Latham at katl@catalystchurch.com.au.

Let’s make a difference together and create memorable moments for our children!

Kids

Catalyst Kids - held during 8.30am Sunday service

We have a heart to provide fun, bible based teaching for primary school aged kids so that they can explore who Jesus is and grow in their faith.

Catalyst Kids runs during our 8.30am service all year, except for during our family Christmas services in December.

During School holidays and on special occasions Kidzone kids (primary aged) start in main service with their families and head out part way through. Tinyland (walking to 4 years) start in their room all year round.

Youth

Catalyst Youth - Friday Nights at 6:30pm-9pm (school terms)

We believe that you are created with a purpose; that you weren't made to watch life from the side lines as a spectator, but to live it to the full & really mean it. We are here to have heaps of fun & support you through life while encouraging you to grow into your potential.

Come along & hang out with us all on Friday nights during school terms!

Check out our Facebook page or contact our Youth Leader Loren Mavity via Facebook Messenger, Instagram DM, or by emailing lorenm@catalystchurch.com.au

Let's Connect!

Young Adults

Catalyst Young adults love to hang out and have fun. The core of who we are is to challenge and inspire each other in our relationship with God.

The most important part of Catalyst Young Adults is our connect groups. Most of these groups meet weekly or fortnightly. These groups provide great opportunities to connect with other young adults, discover how the bible applies to our lives and encourage one another to live our lives to the fullest.

As well as our connect groups, we love to gather together in other ways. We aim to have 2 events a month - one social and one worship focused.

Anyone from age 17 to early 30's is welcome to come join us. For more info please connect with Sam or Jo Pain or email info@catalystchurch.com.au

Anger

Anger is a normal, natural and useful human emotion. Even so, anger can cause much fear in those around us or in the person who is expressing anger. We can experience anger in situations where we:

  • Feel powerless
  • Are mistreated
  • Are unable to feel in control
  • Are embarrassed, shamed or humiliated
  • Experience injustice
  • Are Fearful
  • Experience an event which we cannot make sense of

The common thread is some sense of feeling powerless. It is helpful to understand our anger response, but if we are feeling angry regularly and releasing our anger in unhealthy ways, then help is necessary. Book a session with Catalyst Counselling if you would like to understand your anger and learn more healthy ways to respond.

Some Feedback:

  • I have gained so much insight, discovered my fears and can now do something about them.
  • The notes Lynne provides after the session help me to keep working on my healing journey.
  • Cannot believe I didn’t do this sooner!
