Introducing the Crosslink Network

We had a church meeting a few weeks back to let you know that we have changed our denominational affiliation. We have recently been accepted into the Crosslink Network. What does this all mean for Catalyst?

In a nutshell:

  • Crosslink Christian Network is an international Network of Christian leaders, churches and ministries sharing a commitment to see the kingdom of God come and the will of God being done throughout the world he loves.
  • There are approximately 130 churches in Crosslink across Australia and 30 in Qld. Some large churches like CityLIfe in Melbourne utilize the Crosslink Network.
  • Crosslink enables ministry credentialling and marriage in the eyes of the government.
  • The fees to be with Crosslink are dramatically less than with most other denominations.

What do they believe?

As agents of the kingdom of God, we want to pursue four things that remain unfulfilled according to God’s declared intention in Scripture: holiness that looks like Jesus (Hebrews 1:1-3), oneness that reflects the relationship between the Father and the Son (John 17:21-23), fullness that comes from equipped and deployed saints (Ephesians 4:9-16) and the completion of the mission to see the gospel proclaimed to every person (Matthew 24:14).

Their stated beliefs are: (i) The Apostles’ Creed, (ii) The Nicene Creed, and the Scriptures.

A network more than a denomination, Crosslink see itself more as a network of churches rather than a denomination. This means the value of the autonomy of the local church is very important. As long as a church can commit to their Core Beliefs they allow you to be governed by your own local church eldership. They encourage churches establishing closer relationships with other churches inside and outside the network. Recently Catalyst met with a group of 12 churches that are keen to form an informal network of likeminded churches. We are examining ways of continuing to see high level development of our up and coming leaders and connecting our young people into the body of Christ into the future.

Apostolic Leadership

Crosslink have an emphasis on apostolic leadership. Rather than Crosslink leadership becoming highly involved in deeper issues of the church, they require each church to nominate two apostolic leaders. These apostolic leaders will generally have a high level of connection with particular congregations and have given direction, encouragement, and played a part in the release of the Holy Spirit in the life of the congregation.

Importantly, the two apostles that have been nominated by the eldership of Catalyst Church are Dr Andrew Corbett and Ps John Finkelde. Andrew is a theologian of renown around Australia and leads a vibrant church in Tasmania, Legana Christian Church. John has vast ministry experience as a senior pastor. He currently leads Grow a Healthy Church (a church health and support network). John has been a friend of Catalyst for over thirty years and is currently a formal mentor for Ps Carl.

We have been so appreciative of the way we have been welcomed into the Crosslink Network in this season of the life of the church and we look forward to forging deeper relationships with those in the network over the coming months.

Blessings,
Ps Carl

CATALYST COUNSELLING

Grief - What is grief??

Do you know that there are 6 major types of grief and loss? Did you know that unresolved grief does not go away.  It lies dormant, usually surfacing at the most inopportune times. Unresolved grief can reduce the coping resources available to us in life, causing us to limp along, without us even being aware.  Many of my clients are completely unaware that they are still in the grieving process, and it takes assistance to firstly become aware that we are grieving and secondly to process this grief.

Book a session with Catalyst Counselling to check if grief is still part of your story.

Some Feedback:

  • I have gained so much insight, discovered my fears and can now do something about them.
  • The notes Lynne provides after the session help me to keep working on my healing journey.
  • Cannot believe I didn’t do this sooner!

THINKING OF SELLING YOUR HOME?

Andrew Antoniolli of First National Action Realty Ipswich will donate $150 to Catalyst Cares when he is engaged to sell any church members property or if a church member refers family or friends to sell their properties through him.
