The Ugly Truth About New Seasons
|
So by now, hopefully most of you would be aware of the announcement of Jess and I’s transition out of the leadership of the church. If you have missed this news, you can click here for the video recording.
Can I firstly say how we have appreciated the response of the church. I genuinely mean that. While there is undoubtedly some surprise and sadness, overwhelmingly we have felt the support of individuals who have encouraged us in this big decision. One of my favorite's, was from Josh Knight, who I am sure won’t mind me quoting him, he said, “You have always taught us to follow God’s leading. If you then don’t follow God’s leading now, how could I continue to respect you as a pastor.” Those are mature words.
We have really felt the analogy of 'seasons be strong' as we have shared this news. The ugly, sometimes unspoken truth about seasons, is something has to die before the new season begins. In the most classic case the seed ‘dies’ so that new life can take place. We want to acknowledge the truth of the loss in this season. Not that we are overstating things, but it is ok that there is a sense of loss. Something is dying. However new life always follows. I will be honest. I am already seeing the new shoots of life coming forward. I have seen a faith filled response from our church. I have seen some of our leaders speak prophetically about what God is doing in them personally. I have even seen a new energy around our corporate vision. I believe this will only continue.
However, nobody is saying we also just brush off the loss. That is what the seasons of Autumn and Spring are actually all about…transition seasons where we carry both loss and the new season all at the same time. God is so good and His steady hand is guiding this church. Good days are ahead!

Stress Awareness Diary
The ability to recognize how your body reacts to the stressors in your life can be a powerful skill. We can be more aware of the weather, our bank balance, or what we need to achieve in the day than we are aware of the tension in our own bodies or our personal stress responses. Our bodies registers stress long before our conscious mind does. Muscle tension is our body’s way of letting us know that we are under stress and our body awareness is the first step toward acknowledging and reducing stress. Book a session with Catalyst Counselling to discover how to observe how your body responds to stress and then how to reduce it.

Some Feedback:
- I have gained so much insight, discovered my fears and can now do something about them.
- The notes Lynne provides after the session help me to keep working on my healing journey.
- Cannot believe I didn’t do this sooner!
